Since the year 2000, the organization has participated in the activities of Ekta Parishad-National

The Jharkhand Chapter of Ekta Parishad was officially launched by NSVK on 17th November, 2000 at  Markacho, Koderma. It has been addressing the problems and issues faced by the Adivasis and the poor communities in rural areas. Its main strategy was to mobilize people in an organized manner through awareness building and advocacy through the land rights campaign.

Ekta Parishad was launched in 1991 and is an unregistered, people’s action organization rooted in Gandhian thought and action to work towards community-based governance (Gram Swaraj), Local self-reliance (Gram Swabalumban) and responsible governance

(Jababdeh Sarkar).

Since its inception in November 2000, EP-NSVK has been operating in over 160 villages in Giridih, Koderma, Hazaribah, Bokaro, Chatra, Palamu, Dhanbad, Gumla and Simdega. By 2003, in these districts, the organization and community leaders from five other districts invited them to work in Bokaro, Dhanbad, Gumla, Deoghar, Simdega, Latehar, Jamtara, Chatra and Palamu.
